Open a session

People search “anonymous chat” for several products: throwaway accounts, onion services, and random pairing. Anonymuch refers to a browser session with no public profile and no reusable handle inside the product.

Without an account

You do not register a username that other visitors can search. The other person in a pair is presented as a stranger for that session. That is the main difference from messengers that keep a contact list.

Without a mailbox

Anonymous here also means the product is not designed as a place to reread last week’s thread. If both tabs close, Anonymuch does not offer a login to restore that pair. Related: privacy.

Not the same as untraceable

Hiding a display name does not remove IP addresses from every network log, or stop the other person from saving text. If you need legal anonymity, this website is not that tool. The safety page lists ordinary precautions for talking to strangers.

Adults

Anonymous products are sometimes assumed to have no age line. Anonymuch does: 18 or older. Content involving minors is forbidden in terms.
